“While in the shower getting ready for my show tonight, I was reminded how friggin’ amazing the Oola shampoo bars are!! If you are fed up with the chemical crap in store bought shampoo, then do your hair a favour and get one of these. All natural ingredients! Not sure how Oola does it but my hair has never felt so good!” Sue Pyper – Happy customer
How DO we do it!
Oola Shampoo Bars are made from saponified hair loving oil and butters yes, but what gives them that extra special result?
Several things, but let’s begin at the beginning. We believe, (and from the feedback we receive, so do you!) one of the ‘secrets’ to the magic of Oola Shampoo Bars comes directly from our gardens. There are certain flower petals/buds that lend themselves to hair care. These beautiful flowers not only aid in the care of the scalp but the hair shafts themselves. Among these are calendula, chamomile, comfrey and lavender. Oola shampoo bar oils are infused with these petals/buds, which are collected and dried right from our garden, over a very low heat for several hours. The result is a shampoo bar infused with goodness. Another additional root that is fabulous for the scalp is burdock root. Oola only uses the finest quality root. The oils and their individual percentages are mightily important due to the fact that all oils have different absorption rates and some are more or less likely to leave residue.
Thus far, everyone who has given Oola Body Care feedback, has specifically mentioned how easily the shampoo rinses off with no need for any kind of vinegar rinse. It has taken many batches to find the perfect formula of oils and quantities of petal/buds/root to create our signature recipe but we are very well pleased with the results.
The bars have an extra added bonus of EITHER locally sourced organic goat milk OR sourced coconut milk. Both of these milks leave hair soft and manageable, are excellent for dry scalp, help with the control of dandruff and are super moisturizing.
- Vitamin B-5 (DL Panthenol). Extremely nutritious for the hair follicles.
- Cruelty free silk. What is it? Silk is made from the cocoons of silkworms. Generally, the cocoons are harvested before the silkworms emerge from them, so the worms are killed (approx. three thousand silkworms per pound of silk). Cruelty free means the cocoons are harvested after the occupants have emerged and flown away. A small but precise percentage goes a long way in shampoo bars.
These bars are incredibly time consuming to make. First of all, the flowers/buds etc. are nurtured and grown in the garden. The infusion process must be carefully monitored to be sure the oils don’t get hot, as that may decrease their inherent benefits. Ingredients such as Vitamin B-5 are extremely costly. BUT, the end result speaks volumes.

For longer hair, there is no need to rub any further than top of head/scalp area as the rinsing will clean strands as it washes down.
**For best long lasting results, do not leave the bar sitting in water in the shower. Place somewhere for it to dry out in-between uses.
