The fine art of designing body care products requires a high degree of science. Oola Body Care has developed signature recipes to formulate a thoroughly tested finished line.
As with Oola soap bars, this product needs four weeks to cure once created. Oola keeps a robust stock of this product, but be aware that due to high sales volume, ordering might take a short while to fill.
A note about shaving brushes. Whether you buy a shaving brush directly from Oola Body Care or decide to venture into researching the innumerable possibilities there-in, bare in mind that not all brushes are created equally. Without a high quality brush your beautiful shaving soap will sit in the shower alone and dejected. You will find lower quality brushes are notorious for losing bristles or for having harsh bristles. Oola does carry limited quantities of shaving brushes that have been tested for longevity and durability. These brushed, made in Italy, are tremendous and Oola has never had anything but positive feedback.

Oil of Coconut – An excellent moisturizer as it penetrates easily, creating softer skin. It has been praised through the ages for it’s anti-aging properties. Part of it’s magic is the fact that it is so high in proteins which are natural cell rejuvenators. It does not become rancid either, which allows a long shelf life.
Oil of Sustainable Palm – Oola skin care uses only sustainable palm oil. Certified sustainable palm oil and palm kernel oil are produced at palm oil plantations that comply with the environmental standards. If you would like to read more about sustainable palm oil you can click HERE to read more in the FAQ (frequently asked questions) area. This plant has more vitamin A and E than any other plant-based oil and is full of powerful anti-oxidants.
Oil of Castor – Castor oil has long been used to fight acne. It penetrates deep into the skin, fighting bacteria that can clog pores, while at the same time softening and hydrating irritated skin. Castor is the catalyst for foamy soap bubbles!
Oil of Rice Bran – May boost the protective quality of skin cells, keeping foreign toxins and pathogens from entering through the skin.
Cocoa Butter – Another skin moisturizer that melts at room temperature, which makes it ideal for your skin. This is a super healthy fat, that naturally hydrates and is a lovely ingredient for people with sensitive skin.
Butter of Avocado – This natural extract of avocado is rich in vitamins A, D, and E, unsaturated fatty acids, and lecithin, all of which are beneficial to the general health of your skin. The butter itself is produced from the flesh of the fruit, not from the extracted oil.
Bentonite or Kaolin are unique clays due to their ability to produce an “electrical charge” when hydrated. Upon contact with fluid (like water in the shower or sink) its electrical components change, giving it the ability to absorb toxins. These clays are known for their ability to absorb and remove toxins, heavy metals, impurities, and chemicals. They own a high concentration of minerals including silica, calcium, magnesium, sodium, iron, and potassium.
Varied Essential Oils – Oola Shaving soaps are available in a variety of skin loving scents, including Basil/Lemon, Coconut/Lemongrass, Lavender and Peppermint/Lemon.
Sodium Hydroxide – aka Lye. The truth about lye. Chemistry is a wonderful thing. One of my favourite facts about soap making is this. You have to have lye in order to make soap, but soap does not contain lye! Tis true. Sodium hydroxide is an alkali (base) and the acids are the fatty acids present in oils and butters. Once we mix the two, the molecules combine, a chemical reaction occurs and we get what is called saponification. Click HERE to read more about sodium hydroxide in FAQ (frequently asked questions) area.
Distilled Water – Distilled water offers the elimination of water borne contaminants. Distilled water has no toxic metal or industrial pollutants.
Sodium Lactate – Though it says ‘lactate’, there is no similarity to ‘lactose’ and therefore need not be restricted by those with lactose intolerance. It only takes a wee amount to give you a harder bar which in turn gives you a longer shelf life when in a water environment and is merely a form of salt (which also works as a natural preservative).
